\nSOUTHWEST<\/strong>
\nSo did you catch the 50% off deal that I posted on my site that Southwest ran on Friday the 3rd? Well, the deals were spectacular. I got a roundtrip flight to Denver for $160 total. Now the fun part.<\/p>\n

Their system glitched out where it sent multiple reservations and billed me for each one. I probably got charged for 20 flights and then had to get them cancelled. Not good as some people got nicked by their credit card line, had overdrafts or other issues. When I tried to book the flights it also would say the segment wasn’t available after confirming the flight. I spoke to someone there and they said there were plenty of seats available and to book each seat individually. So I knew there was a glitch going on with that alone.<\/p>\n

In the end we got the tickets at the times we wanted. We had to cancel and get refunds on all the extra flights the system created. And Southwest gave us a $150 credit for the trouble!! So in the end we are flying to Denver from Cleveland for about $85 each. That’s crazy good. Plus they don’t charge for two checked bags per person unlike most the other airlines.<\/p>\n

They also had flights to the west coast for $220 to $250 roundtrip including destinations like Portland and Oakland from Cleveland. San Fran and some others were a bit more. San Antonio was also around $150 roundtrip. To New York LaGuardia it was around $100 roundtrip. Great deals that only lasted a day. When I come across these kind of deals I try to post them on my site and sometimes on Facebook. <\/p>\n

HAIRCUTS<\/strong>
\nMy barber that I’ve been going to since I was in Junior High School decided to retire. It was weird to have to look for another barber after all these years going to the same one. He even came to my wedding! Now I will have to get to know a new person to cut my hair. I’ll find out about their family, their favorite color, and know more about them than I comfortably should. <\/p>\n

I thought maybe I should try using a Flowbee as it is very economical. But using a hair cutting vacuum on my head wasn’t that appealing.<\/p>\n

I thought that maybe I could get a few mixing bowls and cut my own hair that way too. But having a haircut that looked like Moe’s from the 3 Stooges wasn’t very appealing either. <\/p>\n

There are a ton of places that cut hair, but you never know which person you will get to cut your hair. It’s like haircut roulette. It’s exciting, but not always a good exciting. I like that there are a lot of these haircut places and many are close to me.<\/p>\n

Some of the places don’t have appointments and I don’t have time to wait until a seat opens up. Granted I would enjoy getting my fill of reading comics and other magazines I never have a chance to read, but I’ve got things to do so I need a place that takes appointments.<\/p>\n

So right now I am auditioning new places to have my hair cut. I already used a Great Clips coupon to get my first one. I saw the one guy twirling the scissors when he would cut someones hair. I don’t want something sharp being twirled around my head. It’s like having one of those Japanese chefs that twirl knives cutting my hair. Perhaps if he tossed a cooked shrimp in my mouth every so often I would be ok with it.<\/p>\n

Another gal that cut my hair did fine. I was just amazed how quick she cut it. I’m used to a half hour haircut. My hair is thick so it does take some time to cut it. What, no pampering I thought. Am I not that special anymore? Is my haircut now devolved into a time confluence equal to an oil change or fast food order? Can’t they just pretend to cut the same section or errant strand an unnecessary additional millimeter here and there?<\/p>\n

I also thought that I could have fun with this. The people cutting my hair don’t know me at all. I can tell them anything and they would believe it. I think I will tell each one a different story. One I will tell that I am Prince of an island nation and that I am taking in American culture on a sabbatical. Another I will tell I am a farmer and I grow soybeans. I will give her or him a handful of them from my pocket after each haircut as a tip. Another one I will tell, after putting on way too much cologne, that I am a professional race car driver. As I understand it, race car drivers wear lots of cologne, so that will help sell it.<\/p>\n

So I have a lot of work to do to figure out where I will get my next haircut. I don’t want to get attached to one of them in case they start to stink at cutting my hair where I will have to abandon them. After two visits or so I don’t want to have to break it to them in person that I won’t be coming anymore. I will have to tell them in person as that is the noble thing to do. If they start to question my move, I will put my finger on their lips and tell them not to speak. It is better that way. <\/p>\n

If you normally get a haircut each month and add an extra week before your next one, you will trim 3 haircuts a year, saving you untold millions. ..well, maybe not millions. It could save you a good few bucks, but if you look like Chaka from Land of the Lost, then maybe forgoing adding the extra week is better.<\/p>\n
