\nGIANT EAGLE<\/strong>
\nBe sure to get your e-offers at http:\/\/www.gianteagle.com\/save\/eoffers<\/a> before you go shopping. You’re allowed up to 90. The e-coupon will come off automatically at the register when you purchase the one item. <\/p>\n

Giant Eagle is really pulling out all the stops recently with new deals (transfer prescription coupon, allowing competitors coupons, new Fuelperk deals). I think it’s in response to Wal-mart advertising in newspapers about getting things cheaper at Wal-mart than Giant Eagle. In the ads Wal-mart states that you can save around 10% to 20% at Wal-mart on the groceries they list in the ads as compared to Giant Eagle. What Wal-mart doesn’t state is how coupons can save you more at Giant Eagle since they double them there. <\/p>\n

Also, they are two different kind of stores. Wal-mart has everyday low prices while Giant Eagle has sale items mixed in with regular-priced to make up the difference. I’d like them to compare sale-only items at Giant Eagle. There are a bunch of items on sale as BOGO or around 50% off every week at Giant Eagle so if you like to shop sales then Giant Eagle is the store for you. <\/p>\n

Some people just want to buy what they need whether it’s on sale or not. I never buy items at Giant Eagle without them being at least 50% off plus I have to have a coupon for it making the items I buy at least 70% off. If you shop at Giant Eagle and buy the non-sale items mixed in with the sale items the most you will save is about 20%. It pays to shop to sale items! I’m not brand conscious, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get what I want. Everything goes on sale every 6 weeks for the most part, so in time I will find the item I want on sale at a great price. <\/p>\n

New Transfer Prescription Coupon! Check the Giant Eagle ad for a $1 off per gallon at GetGo gas stations when you transfer a prescription to the Giant Eagle pharmacy. I haven’t seen that coupon in a non-grand-opening ad in a looong time. It’s worth $30 when you redeem it for the 30 gallons you’re allowed at their GetGo stations. I paraded around the living room with that ad I was so excited. The cats followed me around wondering what the hub-bub was about so I think it was an official parade although nobody came to watch and there weren’t any clowns or politicians throwing candy.<\/p>\n

Also get 20 cents in Fuelperks (worth $6) when you get your flu shot through 12\/31\/12. <\/p>\n

They have a new Free prenatal vitamin program.<\/p>\n

\nThe stats below will show how much more a person with a college degree will earn and how the much lower unemployment rate depending on education level. It really pays to get a degree, although there are some that are struggling. Many graduates are having a hard time finding jobs. Being in a Great Recession really turns things around and I don’t see things settling until after Jan 1 when the U.S. budget gets decided. Companies are sitting on around $2 trillion dollars of cash so it’s not like they don’t have money to spend. <\/p>\n

There is also supposed to be a skills gap in the U.S. though making graduates more attractive. But it depends on their skills. Many baby-boomers with machine shop type skills are retiring in droves. Many companies have cut their training budgets so worker skills have eroded. With inflation outpacing raises workers are also not paying for training or education as their pay goes to pay the necessities first. Companies need to make sure they invest in the core of their company, their people. Happy workers = more productivity = increased shareholder value = Happy company.<\/p>\n

Less than half of students needed to borrow just before 2000 and now it\u2019s 2\/3. The full price of tuition, fees, and living expenses averaged $38,590 at private colleges in the 2011\/2012 Academic year.<\/p>\n

Earning minimum wage and working full-time paid for college in Ohio up until about the 2000-2001 school year. Now the same job would run $3,200 short in 2011-2012 when in 1981-1982 a student would have $3,500 extra. The biggest gap was in 2005-2006 at $5,300. <\/p>\n
