\nRite Aid discovered a systems error that prevented them from awarding Plenti points to your card for qualifying purchases made between 12 a.m. Sunday, November 15th and 4 p.m. Monday, November 16th. While Plenti points were not loaded to cards during that time, they were able to retro-actively add them to the card used for these purchases. It was completed on Wednesday, November 25th. All Plenti points earned from these transactions are now available for use if you have not already done so. <\/p>\n

\nWHAT I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS <\/strong>
\nRecently, the boyfriend of one of my wife’s friends requested a unique present that he wanted for Christmas. He asked his girlfriend to get a mammogram and other check-ups as his present that he wanted. The girlfriend wasn’t one to willingly go to the doctor. Good thing she decided to give him the present he wanted. Reason being, after she got tested she found out she had breast cancer.<\/p>\n

There are those that don’t like to go to doctors and stall and fight back about going. When some do finally go they find out they have a life-threatening illness. Something that most likely could have been prevented with earlier check-ups. <\/p>\n

I had my prostate tested. Umm, not fun. But it had to be done. Soon I will have to get a colonoscopy. Again, not fun. But it has to be done. <\/p>\n

Don’t let your fears stop you from seeing a doctor. You are only hurting yourself and your loved ones. It’s like when you start to get a hole in sock. It’s easier to fix a tear in a sock when the hole is only the size of piece of corn. Once it gets to the size of a dollar bill that sock is beyond repair. So don’t be that person and get your socks fixed right away.<\/p>\n

\nBLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING <\/strong>
\nBlack Friday shopping was down some from last year. There were some great bargains like a 49″ Toshiba TV at Best Buy for $149. Rite Aid and CVS did well with their deals. OfficeMax did ok. Not as many laptop deals as I expected. Some deals were no better than what you can find any other time of the year.<\/p>\n

I scanned the ads for deals for Black Friday and made a couple stops. One was to show our exchange student Daisy from Austria the Black Friday madness. We made an impromptu stop at Best Buy in Mentor around 5:45. They opened around 5. It was busy in the store. I asked if there were any doorbusters available and they said no. I did find a bundled camera on sale that was a deal that I got.<\/p>\n

We went to the movies afterwards at Atlas cinemas using some free passes I got. I also got my frequent loyalty card stamped when I got a popcorn combo which with 6 stamps gets me a free ticket. The combo deals are the best deals they have there for the concessions. By the way, the Our Town book has Atlas tickets at the matinee price.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, as planned, we got a new refrigerator! I scouted out a deal at Sears for one beforehand and knew I could order one after the crowd settled down. The unit I wanted was 44% off! Earlier in the week I stopped up to make sure the refrigerator would fit. It did, but barely. I think I can fit a slice of cheese in the open space around it where I will fit it in. <\/p>\n

I asked questions and they said it would cost another $100 for a white or black one. That I wasn’t expecting, but I showed her that it showed those two colors at the same price. It surprised her as I guess most did cost more. Doesn’t make sense as it shouldn’t cost them more to make one.<\/p>\n

I got Sears gift cards at Giant Eagle and got the $10 off your next shopping trip deal and the 20 cent Fuelperks deal. <\/p>\n

To get free shipping and free installation I ordered it online while I was there. Originally I was planning to get a Sears card to get if free, but the sales rep said he could do it online and get it for free.<\/p>\n

With the Shopyourwayrewards loyalty program I had a $35 off $300 or more coupon. It initially worked, but then when he went to put in the order it didn’t. He tried a retailmenot code of EXTRA50 and that didn’t work either. He said to call customer service the next day and they should be able to get me the credit. I’ve seen that work before although I was taking a chance. Sure enough, I called the next day and not only were they able to get me a credit, they gave me the higher amount of $50 off.<\/p>\n

In the end the refrigerator was around $1500 originally and I got it for around $600 after all my credits and deals are figured in. Not too shabby. <\/p>\n

I also took advantage of 1 cent security software at Staples and OfficeMax along with 1 cent batteries at OfficeMax.<\/p>\n

Ace Hardware had a 50% off one regular priced item coupon up to $50. The owner of the store told me it was only supposed to be up to $10. He said he lost money on the coupon. As he pointed out you can even see the screen flash red when he lost money on a transaction. He then complained about have to lose around 5% when a credit card was used. I got the hint so I used cash.<\/p>\n

I stopped at Kohls to use my $10 off $10 purchase coupon. I went to the back of the store and saw the line curled all the way to about the middle of the back of the store. I traipsed back on out. As much as it killed me there was no way was I going to wait a couple hours just to save $10. Only a little over 11 months until the next Black Friday deals! <\/p>\n
