\nFRONTIER AIRLINES EXPANDING<\/strong>
\nFrontier Airlines is expanding to 21 cities, including 85 new routes. Frontier will be adding more than 20 new destinations to its Denver hub flight schedule. The total number of routes, including connections, will increase to over 1,000 by summer 2018. It will more than double the current number of total routes.<\/p>\n

Frontier’s 21 \u201cnew\u201d destinations include 16 are cities that they had served previously before discontinuing service. The five entirely new cities joining Frontier\u2019s route map are Buffalo; Charleston, S.C.; Jacksonville, FL; Ontario, CA.; and Pensacola, FL. The 16 that Frontier is restoring service to are: Albuquerque; Boise; Calgary; El Paso; Fargo, N.D.; Fresno; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Jackson Hole, WY; Little Rock; Louisville; Oklahoma City; Palm Springs, Calif.; Reno; San Jose, Calif.; Spokane, WA; and Tulsa.<\/p>\n

Frontier is also rolling out fares as low as $39 for a limited time.<\/p>\n

A new flight from Cleveland to Miami will be available from October 5, 2017 through March 8, 2018. Tickets are on sale for the route for $44.

\nThey will cease operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport later this year.<\/p>\n

The new destinations from Miami are Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio; Detroit, Mich; Milwaukee, Wis; Trenton, N.J.; Islip and Buffalo, N.Y; Providence, R.I. and San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to a news release. <\/p>\n

Some markets will see the number of flights reduced as they use the planes for new flights. <\/p>\n

One thing to be careful about with Frontier is that they don’t have agreements with other airlines in case a flight is delayed or cancelled. You won’t be able to go on another Frontier flight also if their flights are booked which means you could wait days, if at all, to get on a flight to your destination. Hence part of the reason the fares are low. They also charge fees for most everything, so it may not always be as cheap as you think.<\/p>\n

\nWALGREENS BALANCE REWARD EXPIRATION CHANGES<\/strong>
\nIf you are racking up Balance Points Rewards like me, you may want to start using some of them up. Walgreens is changing when you have to use your points before they expire. Any points earned more than a year ago are about to become worthless. And any points earned from now on, will expire within a year. <\/p>\n

Effective August 25, points will expire one year after they are earned instead of the current three year expiration date. Points you\u2019ve already earned will not be grandfathered in under the new policy. Instead, any points earned prior to August 1, 2016 will automatically expire on August 25, if they were earned past one year. As before, all points will expire if an account has been inactive for 6 months.<\/p>\n

It stinks because now I have to purchase a boatload of things before they expire. If you purchase anything at Walgreens it will print out the number of your points expiring on a Catalina. My guess is the hullabaloo this will cause will get them to change the rules or already has.<\/p>\n

It’s best to redeem 40,000 points as it gets you the best bang for your points since it is worth $50. At 10,000 points it’s worth $10.<\/p>\n

Beauty Enthusiast members points will also expire after 12 months, if the $50 spent to get it hasn’t been earned.<\/p>\n

\nTULIP BURGLAR<\/strong>
\nSome of you remember the pictures of the hundreds of tulips in my yard. Apparently, some rodent also saw it and has been one by one digging each one up an having itself a fine snack. They never bothered them in years past, so now I’ve been trying some things to deter them.<\/p>\n

I haven’t seen the squirrels or chipmunks digging them up. I found out that sometimes they dig them up because the think it’s an acorn they buried. I need to leave a map out showing them that all the holes they are digging are not where there are acorns. Instead, they could be eating the hundreds of hickory nuts on the ground. No digging needed! Nope, they have to honk me off and eat all my clearance tulip bulbs.<\/p>\n

The tulip burglar could be a skunk or raccoon digging them up at night. For that matter it could be an otter or giraffe that comes around the yard at night avoiding my canvassing eyes. I need to hire one of the neighborhood cats or dogs to hang out in my yard to keep these thieving predators from my yard.<\/p>\n

I sprayed some animal-deterrent spray stuff on the yard to see if it will deter them. I also used some spray I got at Marcs that is supposed to specifically deter squirrels and chipmunks, but they are still all over my yard. I’m better off just using potpourri spray.
