\nWe purchased a great deal for wine at one of our favorite wineries, Perry Creek. They are located in the Sierra Foothills in California. We discovered their wines when we went on a trip driving north of Yosemite Park. I haven’t seen their wines at any stores in the area. What we purchased was their 2011 Altitude 2401 Zinfandel. Some stores take competitor’s coupons and sometimes it’s a matter of just asking them if they take them. You might get a different answer from different people that work at the store, so it pays to ask around if your first answer is a no. Cashiers may not know or have the authority, so ask the manager if they do.<\/p>\n

Working the angles, I will have to see if they will take a Macy’s $10 off $25 coupon. I can say that they sell pet cloths and there are shirts that fit pets at Macy’s so like, yeah, they are competitors. Plus the furniture at Macy’s is used by pets, especially as scratch posts. Well, we’ll see how far that gets me. <\/p>\n

\nI BEA AT IKEA <\/strong>
\nI was in Columbus over this past weekend and we decided to stop at the sprawling Ikea store in the northern part of the city. I haven’t been in one since we stopped at one in Portland many moons ago. It hasn’t changed much. It’s still like walking through a maze that you can’t escape all that easily. It reminded me of walking through a haunted house. Everyone has to follow the path and you just look at stuff.<\/p>\n

It’s a Swedish store so you’ll find a lot of modern-like items with a European flair. <\/p>\n

It’s really like a home goods store that forces you to go through every aisle. I’m surprised I didn’t find someone lost in a corner for days pawing at me to save them because that didn’t know their way out. You should pack sandwiches and fluids so that you have enough sustenance to get you through the whole store and in case you get lost. <\/p>\n

There were tons of people walking at varying speeds and sometimes blocking the whole aisle which wasn’t very wide. I used some good cut and run football moves to get around them.<\/p>\n

I wasn’t impressed with the pricing. Most everything is reasonably priced, but there are no super deals. Sales are pretty much non-existent.<\/p>\n

We almost didn’t buy the items we got because the lines were too long. We chucked the few items we had and started to get ready to walk out of the store, but there was a food area I wanted to check out before we left to see what kind of prices they had. I then asked the gal at the food cafe on the other side of the registers whether they would check us out…not like check us out as in ‘take a look at me and tell me what you think’ but check us out as in buy the stuff at their register. They said yes which was great since there was nobody in line when I asked her. So we ended up grabbing the stuff we chucked and bought a few food items too.<\/p>\n

Cleveland is still in the running for an Ikea. It was supposed to get built in the Brooklyn area, but because of some land issues it got shelved. It’s just hard finding a place with enough land and infrastructure to handle the massive amount of traffic they get. It has to be near a freeway interchange too. One day I expect them to find somewhere to put it here in Cleveland. Now that I painted a pretty picture of Ikea I’m sure you’ll want to see it for yourself when it does come here. <\/p>\n
