\nLONG ISLAND ICED ME <\/strong>
\nI tried the $1 Long Island Iced Tea at Applebees on special the whole month of December. So how was it? I was expecting it to taste like fermented mop bucket water, however, it was suprisingly good. It had a good taste and comes in a mini kind of beer mug, probably to make it seem heavier than it is. For a dollar there was plenty. <\/p>\n

As far as the alcohol I was wondering, as everyone else that hadn’t tried it, if it was so watered down that there was not much too it. The drink comes pre-made in a vat and the bartender said they put six bottles of alcohol in it. She said it comes out to about a shot and half of alcohol in each glass. Not bad. They are allowed to only serve six to each customer. It had some kick. She said the margarita drink they had for a dollar the other month wasn’t as good.<\/p>\n

Now here’s the key…did I get a headache and all from it the next day? Nope! Now that’s the cats meow!<\/p>\n

The last time I drank multiple long island iced teas was many moons ago. When I turned 21 I went to see the Unknown Comic at the old Cleveland Comedy Club and they had a special on pitchers of long island iced tea. It tastes like sweet tea so it was easy to guzzle. The comedian was funny. The way I felt the next day wasn’t..<\/p>\n

BONUS: They had half off select appetizers after 10 pm. <\/p>\n

\nCOUPON WARNING <\/strong>
\nYou may have seen a flyer at registers of some stores about coupon fraud from Smart Source. They are stepping up efforts to stop the illegal purchase of coupons. Coupon clipping services and coupon insert sellers are being targeted. Some were stealing the coupon inserts from docks of newspaper companies and selling them. Selling coupons is illegal and coupon clipping services get around it by saying they are charging for their “clipping” services and not charging for the coupons.<\/p>\n

As a retaliatory move, the coupon insert companies, Smart Source and Red Plum, have removed their inserts from certain newspapers in cities where they believe the inserts are being stolen. Tampa Bay and Los Angeles were one of their first targets. Atlanta followed along with other cities.<\/p>\n

The Coupon Information Center (https:\/\/couponinformationcenter.com<\/a>), investigates fraud and even has a link for people to report fraud. It is the group behind the efforts.<\/p>\n

I usually get extra coupon inserts on Saturday at Marc’s where they sell the Sunday edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that includes the Sunday ads and Smart Source and Red Plum coupons inserts at a discounted price of $1.33 for the paper or another store if they run out. For an even better deal Family Dollar sells them for $1 at select stores. The Sun newspapers has the Smart Source inserts and the newspaper sells for .67 at Marc’s. The News-Herald has only the Smart Source coupon inserts. I also get extras from family, friends or co-workers. <\/p>\n

So if you know someone that is bogarting mass amounts of coupon inserts tell them to stop. The insert companies could stop including the inserts in the local papers if they get wind of it. They can get extras by just paying a little at the store for extra newspapers or get extra from people they know that don’t use theirs. <\/p>\n
