\nI was at Giant Eagle a few weeks ago and they already had Halloween candy out! Then I heard some stores like Costco already had Christmas items out! Any of it being food may be nearly expired by the time the holiday actually arrives! Ok, that was three exclamation points in a row in those sentences. I think that is the max allowed in a paragraph before the paragraph police send me a citation.<\/p>\n

\nLAKE COUNTY CAPTAINS<\/strong>
\nI caught a story about how the Lake County Captains, the Cleveland Indians minor league A team, needed host families. We had a great experience with our foreign exchange student and thought it would be neat to host a player as I’m a huge Indians fan. So I contacted them to see what it was all about. About a week later in June they called to see if we could take in a player. At the time we still had our exchange student so we had to say no. Then we got asked again this past week.<\/p>\n

This time the player initially decided to stay with the other players. They stay at the Pine Ridge apartments unless they stay with any of the other host families, of which there are two others actively hosting. But then I got a call.<\/p>\n

At first I couldn’t understand a word that the person was saying. I thought maybe someone called the wrong number or it was a sales call. It was a younger sounding guy. I had to ask a few times to repeat themselves and I still couldn’t understand him. I was about to hang up when he said a word I understood – Captains. It clicked that it was one of the players.<\/p>\n

Luckily, I had read about a new player being called up and I knew he was from Aruba, so he had an accent. I also realized why maybe I didn’t understand him because of his name when he was trying to introduce himself. His name is Sicnarf Loopstock. Yes, not your usual name. One of the best in baseball for sure. His first name is Francis backwards – named after his father. <\/p>\n

He was rehabbing in the Arizona Instructional league and then moved up to Mahoning Valley and hit two homers in two games in a row. So now he is with the Captains. He’s a catcher, but can play infield and outfield. They are having a good second half of the season so they are making the playoffs.<\/p>\n

I had to give him keys to the house. I figured he would lose the keys in his gymbag somewhere so I wanted to put them on a keychain. I rooted around a drawer looking for a keychain, but couldn’t find one. Then I looked in another area of knick-knacks and I found one. <\/p>\n

The keychain was one that I got as a gag gift. For some reason people give me poop related stuff. The keychain was a pig that when you crank its tail poop balls would come out. So I opened the package and all the poop balls fell all over the floor. I picked them up the poop one by one and stuffed them into the pigs butt because that is where it was supposed to go. I thought all the poop balls went into the butt, but I tried to force one in thinking it was jammed. Apparently there was excess poop balls and all of them weren’t supposed to go in the pig’s butt. I also broke it because the tail just goes up and down without it spitting out any poop balls. Now the pig can’t poop. If Sicnarf wants it to poop he will have to dig out the poop himself. I put the keys on the pig keychain and gave it to him. <\/p>\n

The interesting thing is before I even knew he was staying we had been looking for trip to go to Aruba. So now if we go I can ask him which hotels are best for the price.<\/p>\n

He’s been a real nice guy. I hope he likes his keychain. Go Captains!<\/p>\n
