\nAfter the holiday shopping season many stores close because businesses shut down underperforming stores after assessing how they did through the holidays. Macy’s and JC Penney have already announced they are closing some of their stores. At the bottom of my blog I list businesses that have closed.<\/p>\n

Nobody wants to see a store close since it affects people’s jobs. For consumers though, there will be an opportunity to get great bargains. Wait until the items are at least half off as most items go on sale for that much throughout the year, unless they are items that rarely go on sale. Sometimes shoppers get all caught up in the closing sale that they buy anything they think they might need. The problem is that the sales are usually final. Plus many times liquidators will purchase the inventory and increase the prices so that the percentage off sale is even worse than you would normally see during the year. So don’t get all caught up in the hype with the store closing. Know your prices and if you walk out of the store with nothing, that is ok. Make sure it’s a bargain.<\/p>\n
