CRAZY PEOPLE DO THE DARNEDEST THINGS
This story is not for the faint of heart. If you blush at anything “odd” – don’t read it. Anyways, after reading it, I have to wonder if there were any extrabucks on the reciept. And I wonder if the coupon was “expired”. I’m just light-headed thinking of all comedic lines I can come up with behind this one.

EGYPT CRISIS
In Egypt a total of 40% of a families budget goes to paying for food. In the U.S. it’s 11%. A lot of other Arab nations are in crisis now because the systems there are out of whack. Lots have rulers that oppress people. Hopefully everything will end peacefully in other nations as they look to create a more democratic, fairer society. Interesting to see some rulers give immediate raises to workers to try to quell the riots. But with the success in Egypt that isn’t going to work as it didn’t there. We’re going to see civil wars at an unprecedented pace there.

CABLE
My cable bill just jumped another $5. I’ll be calling the retention department there to see if they can give me a better deal. I’ll also check http://www.billshrink.com to find out the best cable/dish deal. It showed Dish being cheapest for me, but they usually have a low monthly fee that jumps in year 2.

Hey, maybe I’ll get an antennae and ditch my cable. If you plan to use traditional antenna or rabbit ears for your TV, go to http://www.antennaweb.org to find what over-the-air stations are available where you live. The site will also recommend an antenna for your TV depending on where you are located. You may need to get a digital ATSC tuner, found in most TVs built since 2007. Get more antenna information at http://www.tvfool.com and http://www.antennapoint.com.

LAS VEGAS
I was in Vegas this past week. I always like to ask taxi guys about the deals. He said that the locals said that the M Resort had a buffet that was out of this world for the price. Here is a link to it:

I usually like to play the slot machines. I won $115 on one pull on a penny slot! There is a trick though. In order to win big you have to max bet. You’d think the penny slots are cheap since they are penny slots, right. Nope. The one I was on like most other penny slots have 40 ways or so to win. Now times that by the max bet amount which is 5 and it costs $2.

The quarter slots are usually are $1 or $1.25 for a max bet. Most of the quarter slots you have to match three across while the penny or nickel slots and you need 5 across, so there are more combinations to win with the penny and nickel slots meaning they cost more when max betting. You can’t win much if you don’t max bet. Check out the possible amounts to win and you’ll see that the penny slots don’t pay out as much for the grand prizes. The quarter slots surprisingly pay more and charge less!

I met Michael Strahan at the conference and chatted with him about the Browns. He’s the pro-bowler/Super-Bowl winner from the New York Giants. Funny guy. He’s on Fox sports. He threw some autographed footballs to the crowd at dinnertime at the seminar I was at. Talk about an accident waiting to happen. I never seen so many out-of-shape guys trying to catch a football. They were bouncing off heads. He even threw one that hit the lights on the ceiling that richocheted downward. I was just waiting for one to skip off someone’s bald head and into a table full of drinks and food. After a few errant throws into a crowd of people I knew he had to throw a safe pass and there I was in the front with nobody around me wide open. He looks at me and I’m still open and sure enough he throws me one of the balls. I didn’t bobble it either. I plan to meet with the Browns next week to play for them.
