DEBT & RELATIONSHIPS
Below is a great article about debt and relationships. Did your spouse
have debt when you got married? Did you know about it? If so, did you get married? If not, how did it go over?
The #1 reason people get divorced is because of money issues, so it’s best to be financially honest. Hiding debt is not the best approach. Would you ditch someone that was in major debt?
I know a couple that had issues about getting married since she had a decent amount of debt. It was school debt and, if reasonable, can be expected with someone that is young. Then again, when does school
cost too much? It’s tough enough starting after getting out of college and having to buy everything, and especially when first getting married after college.
Will the job from the degree pay off the debt in a reasonable amount of time or will it be a long-term burden? There are plenty of good colleges that charge a reasonable amount for tuition. What would be your cutoff for too much debt? Just some things to think about before making major decisions in life.

DEAR DIARY, (entry from September 8th, 2010)
I got up at 6:35 this morning. I hit the snooze only once. I think I dreamed about pasta. Or maybe it was about slugs. I just remember it was something squishy.
I ate yogurt for breakfast. Not enough fruit on my fruit on the bottom Breyers yogurt. There was plenty of that mystery fluid at the top though. I dumped the fluid out in the sink. That ought to eliminate any health issues it might have given me.
I brushed my teeth. I weighed myself. I was 168.2 lbs. I knew I shouldn’t have eaten those 3 dozen cookies before bedtime. Bad, bad me.
Why does it take me so long to pick out what I will wear for the day? I wish all my clothes had a Garanimal on it so that I can match them up much quicker. I think I am too tired to make such grand decisions so early in the morning. I wore my dark gray pants and red shirt. Then again, it might have been green pants and a purple shirt. I can’t tell with the sun yet to rise and the lighting in my bedroom throwing me off.
I fed my tropical fish. Gotta fatten them up for them being a potential dinner. The neon tetra is sure looking tasty today. I wonder what florescent blue and red taste like. I’m thinking potatoes and gravy. You’d think blueberries and strawberry, but I just know what it looks like from the outside doesn’t match what is on the inside.
I listened to 100.7 and then thirty other stations after that because I wanted to rock in the morning before I went to work, but just couldn’t find the right song to listen to.
I played my music too loud since I had to roll up the window when I got to the light. I felt odd with my music selections for a middle-aged man. I checked to see if people were looking at me. I wonder why is it that I’ve never heard anyone blasting Polka. As I get on the freeway I start singing with vigor whatever is on the radio. I switched from Inna Godda Davida by Iron Butterfly to Lady Gaga’s Poker face. I think there is something wrong with me.
Traffic was stop and go. Again. I noticed this thing on the side of the road. I don’t remember it being there the day before. It looked like either a piece of a bucket, a helmet, a wolverine, or a Trapper Keeper. I’ll have to keep tabs on it to see if it decomposes.
I had a Lean Cuisine, apple and diet Pepsi for lunch. I think how paltry my lunch is and that it usually satisfies my hunger, but then for dinner I pretty much want to eat everything I see. Good thing the cats skidaddle before I eyeball them as my next meal. They might taste ok between some Roman Meal bread and mayonnaise. But I’m not that ravenous.
I get home and the cats do their usual freak-out dance for me to feed them. My how that annoys me. So I do my best to annoy them back by mimicking their moves. Makes me feel slightly better, but then guilty.
I turn on the TV to watch news like I do every day. Another killing. Cheez, these people need to get a grip. Do they hafta get that pissed off they have to kill someone. Can’t they just hurl veiled insults to make them feel better or just turn the other cheek. If someone came at me with a gun to rob me I’d sit down with them and ask them what’s the deal. I’d ask them if they’d want to chat over an order of french fries and just let everything out and that would be after I put a daisy in the barrel of their gun. I’d ask them for a minute while I rooted around for a daisy. I figure nobody took the time to listen to them and understand them and that would put them at ease.
As it is I’d like to see the news report on how someone’s garden is growing instead. Oh, look at Mrs Sequiggens tomato’s. Those beefsteaks are sure coming along nicely. Another week and they’ll be ready for picking and go nicely with some balsamic vinegar. Back to you Wilma.
I go to my backyard and practice singing Take on Me by the group A-ha. I did pretty good hitting the high note today attested by the number of calls I was getting I’m sure to tell me how well it sounded.
I wrote August on one of my checks when it was September. Duh.. Then I wrote the year 1952. I’m not sure why I did that.
I then work on my web-site when I get home. I wrote something about me writing in my diary. I have to figure out later how to fix this circular reference.
Now for my statistics for the day.
– People I waved to: 8.
– People that I said hello to, but they didn’t say hello back to me: 2
Number of people that raised my ire today: 5, rather high for a Wednesday
– Rakes I saw: 1
– Times I practiced skipping: 0
– Loaves of bread I squeezed: 3
– Met my quota of daily recommend allowance of fruits and vegetables?: yes
– My deep dark thought of the day: I wondered if I would do well on Dancing
with the Stars. I thought about how I would show people how to call my
number.
– Thing I thought of that happened in the past: When I saw praying mantis it
reminded me of the time when I one of them laid a sac of its eggs on my
bedroom curtain.
– Things I did different today: I followed every sentence with “you know what I mean?”
Thinking back on my day today and knowing that I will read this again someday, I’m sure it will harken me back to what a splendid day I had. And now that it is written in my diary I will have a record of it so I won’t forget what I did. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Maybe just maybe I will see one more rake than today! Ohh, the splendid opportunities that life brings…
