WALMART
The store in Madison is doubling!!! They are doubling coupons of 99 cents and less. No limits. They have to do it manually.
There was a K-Mart across the street that went out of business and it looks like they are trying to put the Giant Eagle there out of business too. Great sign to see them doubling. Unprecedented in the area. Located at 6067 North Ridge Rd. I haven’t heard of any other Wal-Marts doubling in the area.
FREAKS
Going shopping I find a plethora of people in various stages of dress. Some I find quite entertaining and some, well, they scare me. Here I was kidding around last week about dressing like a goof and going shopping. Yes some people actually think nothing of dressing like a scamp or 70’s reject and going shopping out in public. Bless their hearts as they add some pizzaz to my shopping trip.
Speaking of Wal-Mart, check out these freaks at Wal-Mart – yes, these are real pics of people that shop there. I admire their moxie. These fashion plates think nothing of it. It’s like free entertainment!

Reminds me, there is also an e-mail with loads of Olan Mills Awesomeness. Here’s one pic from it.
Thoughtful Lance. Mirthful Lance. Two sides of a delightful coin.
GAS PRICES
The price of a barrel of oil dropped more than 10% this past week. Funny how when the price of a barrel of oil increases rapidly so does the price of gas at the gas stations, yet when it drops it takes awhile for the price to drop at the gas stations. Gas use has dropped with the high prices. As I mentioned the other week even Saudi Arabia decreased production because they couldn’t find buyrs, so the commodoties brokers sold off and made their profits. The death of Osama Bin Laden and some poor economic news also helped. I’d expect the price to drop to the $3.75 range very soon. Check for the best gas prices at http://www.gasbuddy.com.

THINGS I’VE NOTICED WITH ALL THE RAIN
10) I’ve grown some gills.
9) The neighorhood cats have built rowboats to pick up drowned mice and chipmunks.
8) The high dewpoint really messes up my afro.
7) Anything I plant including gum will grow quite nicely.
6) For safety I need to wear a lifejacket at all times.
5) Stores with roof leaks now use 18 gallon garbage cans to collect water instead of small buckets.
4) Hearing rain on the roof all day makes me sleepy.
3) Being confined to my house indoors because of the rain, I’ve noticed some extra people live in my house.
2) Putting Palmolive on top of my car and leaving it out in the rain thoroughly washes my car.
1) My fingers are pruning and there is moss growing on the north side of my head.

RED PLUM
Below is an updated list of the Red Plum coupon insert schedule. It changed some since the beginning of the year. There weren’t any Red Plum inserts this past week.
Red Plum inserts get mailed to homes in the Cleveland area because they say the PD newspaper circulation doesn’t reach Red Plum’s threshold. It stinks because if they don’t get delivered for some reason there is no recourse to get them. If they were in the paper you can contact the PD to have them send you the set that was missing or get a paper with it at the store. Plus you can get extra sets if they are in the paper. Hoepfully one day they’ll get them back in the papers.
You can get the Red Plum insert in the Akron Beacon Journal. The ABJ usually has a smaller set of inserts though. You can get a bigger set of Smart Source inserts along with P&G inserts in the PD. The Red Plums mailed to Cleveland area homes tends to be bigger. Also know that some other parts of the country get more (and sometimes less) coupons distributed to them.

TIME WARNER CABLE
Did you experience problems with your cable this past week? I did. The picture on the screen would freeze and then it would come back on. Some of the faces the people would make when frozen was comical. Yet, it was annoying. And annoying enough for me to call them up to request a credit. They creditted my bill $4.12. Not a ton, but enough to make me feel better and get a free Big Mac (or two with my BOGO coupon). Someone else told me they got over $7 back. The longer the outage you report, the larger the credit. Call them at 1-877-772-2253 to get your credit. They had the gall enough to pimp their bundled service on the call. Yeah like I’d want to get their overpriced broken service with my internet and phone calls too. And the funny thing, there was a message on their call that their billing services were down too.

ONLINE COUPON CODES
Did you ever try to buy something online and it asks you for a promo or coupon code, but you don’t know what they are. There are a good many sites that list them. They are http://www.naughtycodes.com, http://www.PromotionalCodes.com, http://www.CouponWinner.com, http://www.couponcabin.com, and http://www.PromoCodes.com. I even list some on my link at http://www.joethecouponguy.com/links/index.htm
My favorite is naughtycodes because it freaks people out because it looks like you are going to a naughty site. Just don’t misspell codes as coeds. Otherwise, you will see something naughty.

VACATIONSTOGO.COM
Want to go for a cruise on the cheap? Check out http://www.vacationstogo.com, http://www.cheapcaribbean.com, http://www.cruisecompete.com, and http://www.cruise.com. Some are last minute deals, but you’ll find many that are 70% off and more that are for months away if nto longer.
We used vacationstogo.com to do a cruise to Hawaii for 80% a few years back. It was a $5,000 cruise – balcony, 7 night, on Norwegian – for $1,000. They had inside cabins for $599! And it was a great cruise. We bumped into some that took their family and they paid the $5,000 each! Bummer for them. We did Alaska on Royal Caribean for $1,100 for a 7 night balcony using them too.
There are some 7 night cruises to the Caribbean for $299! It can be cheaper to cruise than to rent an apartment plus you get free meals with free seconds, a free gym, free entertainment, free towels shaped as animals, and more!
I like cruises that don’t have many days at sea. I want to see places and not spend time stuck on a boat. Days at sea cost the cruiseline less since they don’t have to pay port fees.
Inside rooms are the best value. You pay $200 extra or more just to have a small oceanview window that is covered by a curtain.
Be sure to get to your destination a day early and not the day of the cruise. It will cost you a bundle to get flown to the first port if you miss the boat. One time we saw people waving at the dock for the boat to stop because they got there late. The boat kept chugging out. I took pictures of them.

Hi Joe,
This is maybe your best newsletter yet. Thanks for the heads up on the Wal-Mart .99 unlimited doubles. I sure hope that they don’t put my favorite store, Giant Eagle out of business. I was more looking for Kroger shrinkage. I’m wondering if there’s any truth to the rumor that a people of Kroger website will be up soon. Wal-Mart has become so coupon friendly, plus they are practically looking upscale lately. I do get a few laughs with the people of Wal-Mart. The Howell, MI Wal-Mart store recently had a test of 1.00 Super Doubles. Needless to say, there was a run on the place. The test ended, but at least they’re thinking along the lines of doubling.
Good luck on getting the RP back in the Plain Dealer. Maybe it’s based on a percentage of the population buying the newspaper. Hard to believe that the Toledo Blade still has the Redplum. Maybe we’re just slow on the internet news uptake here.
The rain list had me laughing. Palmolive is on sale this week at Giant Eagle, and my car does need washing.
Keep up the good work!
