WALK-A-THON
Independence Inc., a service provider to individuals with Developmental Disabilities, invites Portage county and surrounding communities to sign up for their annual “Walk a Mile in their Shoes” Walkathon event on Saturday May 19, 2012 at the Kent State Student Recreation Center. Participants can obtain registration forms at http://www.teamiop.org.
The “Walk a Mile in their Shoes” Walkathon, will benefit a number of local Agencies that provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Registration for the event is $25.00. All participants will receive an event T shirt and admission to the KSU Recreation Center for the day. Amenities and activities include basketball courts, racquet ball courts, pool, face painting, cornhole and ping pong. Sponsorship booths are available for $25.00 and will be located in the main lobby of the KSU student recreation center.
The walkathon starts at 9:00 AM and will conclude at 12:00PM; participant and sponsor registration begins at 8:30AM. Walkers may choose their own pace and the number of laps they wish to complete.
Prizes will be awarded for and individual and team that raises the most pledges.
