I’m not sure how they’re making money on this deal. At the Very Good Pizza Company in Chesterland they have an all-you-can-eat pizza for $7 (cheese), $9 (1-2 toppings). or $12 (specialty pizza). Unlimited dipping sauces. Kids 10 and under only $5. Dine-in only. Limited time only. Located at 12720 Chillicothe Road.
I know I can easily polish one pizza in a sitting. Back when I was young we would have contests to see how many we could eat and I believe some of us ate two or three large pizzas. Us Marching Band members would go to Capones pizza in Willowick. It’s when I could eat tons and never gain any weight. Nowadays I eat a corn flake and gain a pound.

AT&T CREDIT
If you were like me, you noticed that your weren’t receiving texts the other week. Turns out AT&T had a huge network outage. AT&T is trying to make amends for their blunder and automatically applying a credit to their accounts. It’s only $5, but at least it’s something. They’re crediting an average cost of a full day of service.
One $5 credit per account on your AT&T WirelessSM account. Offer does not apply to AT&T Business, AT&T Prepaid or Cricket. The bill credit is expected to be applied within 2 bill cycles.
GIVING IT BACK
Laketran is temporarily pausing the .25% sales tax approved by Lake County voters in 2019. They are flush with cash due to a surplus after $22 million from COVID-19 relief money. In total $12 million will be “returned”. In turn, starting in July sales tax in Lake County will go from 7.25% down to 7%. Good to see an agency doing the right thing.

The CEO of Wendys made reference to dynamic pricing in their last earnings call. Dynamic pricing, also called surge pricing, would increase pricing at busy times and lower at slower times. The backlash was bad enough that they decided not to do so. They also stated that the comments were misconstrued.
Patrons said it was price gouging. Of course, it would be busy at lunch and dinner times, so customers would have to choose whether to pay more. It would just upset customers knowing they are paying more than normal. Just imagine if grocery stores did it. Busy means having to be in longer lines, so why aggravate customers even more, especially when people in line for food are most likely hangry.
FAMILY DOLLAR RAT-INFESTED WAREHOUSE
Family Dollar was fined $41.6 million for storing food, cosmetics, drugs and medical devices in a rat-infested warehouse in Arkansas for years, court records show. The FDA found evidence of live rodents, dead and decaying rodents, rodent feces, urine, odors and evidence of gnawing and nesting. A fumigation of the facility resulted in the extermination of 1,270 rodents. I’d hate to be the person that had to count each rat.
The warehouse shipped to more than 400 Family Dollar stores in Alabama, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee. So at least they weren’t shipped to Ohio stores! If you buy cereal from them make sure the bonus prizes in the box aren’t alive.
FLIGHT DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS DASHBOARD
Do you know which airlines will rebook you on partner airline or another airline with which it has an agreement at no additional cost? How about which ones give you a Credit/travel voucher when cancellation results in passenger waiting for 3 hours or more from the scheduled departure time? Some airlines are very good about helping out customers get on other flights when there are delays or cancellations while others, many low-cost airlines, leave you in a lurk.

DRUG DEALERS FINED
CVS settled a case with The Ohio Board of Pharmacy for $1.3 million over issues at 22 Ohio CVS stores. The allegations include missing drugs, improper drug security, dispensing errors, prescription delays, lack of general cleanliness, understaffing, and failure to report losses of controlled substances, according to a statement by the board. This is on top of the board fining a Canton CVS for $250,000 for issues with the pharmacy there, including being a month behind on filling prescriptions.
The Willoughby Hills CVS reported a loss of 575 tramadol pills that each contained 50 milligrams; 499 alprazolam pills containing 2 milligrams each; and 479 zolpidem tartrate pills, each containing 10 milligrams. The store could not identify a reason for the losses. Perhaps a one for me and one for you counting method was used or eyeballing it counts were used.
The settlement covers stores in Willoughby, Aurora, Painesville, Chagrin Falls, Toledo, Wooster, Steubenville, Xenia, Kettering, three in Dayton, Renyoldsburg, Rossford, Springfield, Columbus, Lebanon, Westerville, Coshocton and Germantown.
CVS announced that they’re committed to ensuring there are appropriate levels of staffing and resources at our pharmacies and are making targeted investments, including enabling teams to schedule additional support as needed, enhancing pharmacist and technician recruitment and hiring, and strengthening pharmacy technician training. They’re making roughly $1 billion in wage increases for pharmacists between 2021 and 2024 and are also awarding roughly $70 million in bonuses for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other frontline workers this year.
BEST CITIES TO RETIRE
Ohio has done well on a couple surveys as far as cities to retire. A local Ohio city was voted the Best City to Retire on $2,500 a month. According to GoBankingRates.com, Akron was rated the best with living expenses averaging $2,361 per month. Cleveland, the largest city in the top 15, was ranked #8.
The report used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics 2022 Consumer Expenditure Survey for people age 65 and older, Zillow’s Home Value Index, AreaVibes, and more, to compare U.S. cities based on population, monthly mortgage costs, monthly necessity expenses and overall livability. Granted, living in Northeast Ohio isn’t a mecca for warm weather year round…but I only shoveled snow twice this year!

Another best places to retire list found Ohio one of the best, according to a report from ThisOldHouse.com with 12 cities ranking among the top 50, ahead of Florida and Tennessee with eight each.
The report compared 412 U.S. suburbs of the 50 most populous metro areas across three categories: Quality of life, such as crime rate, climate risk, ratio of physicians to residents and more; financial well-being, including percentage of income spent on insurance and property taxes, state income tax rates and more; and amenities, such as golf courses, festivals, museums, pickleball options and more.
