I see this sign driving to work every day. I can probably safely say that professionally done it was not. I may be taking liberties here, but I don’t think there was much preparation measuring out the lettering and numbers. I wonder how long after painting in the phone number did they realize that they forgot the area code. They had grand ideas for a huge letter C on each word, but they ran out of building and had to clip them. Doesn’t the last six in the phone number look more like a bent spoon. They just crammed the phone number in there like meat slices in a Dagwood sandwich. And I’m not impressed with the graffiti. No definition to the lettering. I have no idea what it says. These things I think of deeply every day…

Do you think you have you gotten overbilled on your iPhone? Check out this story:

I found that my minutes weren’t listed correctly online when I was checking my AT&T cell phone bill. They gave me a substantial credit.
Tip on cell minutes – if you think you are going over on your minutes call up your cell phone company and get bumped up to a higher minute plan before they charge you for additional minutes. Drop back down when you minutes go down and request your rollover minutes to stay.

WAREHOUSE CLUBS
I don’t shop at Warehouse Clubs, for a few reasons. Number one is that they charge people to shop at their stores. That’s crazy. Think about it. If Dots or Dollar General charged you to shop at their store, even if they had good deals, would you still shop there?
Warehouse Clubs sell mostly in bulk which means if you end up throwing out half of what you bought because it expired, in essence, you paid double for that item. Buying things in bulk isn’t good either. I stopped in to check out their store and found that they sold mayonnaise in one gallon containers. That means I have to eat a two-children’s-head-sized container of mayo that takes up a huge portion of my refrigerator. Mayo is good, but not that good. Bulk isn’t always cheaper either.
Next is that you can’t use coupons at most of the Warehouse Clubs. Costco and Sam’s Club don’t allow you to use manufacturers coupons. They may have their own branded coupons, but those are limited. BJ’s allows manufacturers coupons though and you can stack a manufacturers coupon with a BJs coupon. On multi-packs they allow up to 3 coupons for each individual sale item in the pack. There are some restrictions and their rules changed recently as they used to allow more than 3 coupons.
The problem with matching bulk items with coupons is that you save less per unit price. For instance, if you have a .75 off coupon for the gallon-sized mayo, it only saves you about 10%. If you take it to a store like Giant Eagle you can save around 50% with it. For instance, this past week Hellmans went on sale at GE and the .75 coupon doubled making it $1.50 when it normally cost $3.99 – that over 60% savings plus if you got 7 they gave you a $7 on you next shopping trip coupon.
When you get a membership card for Warehouse Clubs it also forces you into having to shop there since you spent money to get it and you are part of the “Club”. Going elsewhere to shop, even when there are better deals, diminishes the need for the card so psychologically people keep from shopping elsewhere to keep the worth of the card valuable.
I’m all for competition though, but the Warehouse Clubs needs to offer smaller sizes, allow coupon use, and throw in some better sales. I don’t see that happening because they stay in business because the charge for membership and that is where they get a bulk of their profit.
BALANCE
There are days where I’m so busy. I wish I had more free time to enjoy things like taking my time to lick a lollipop instead of just crunching it down because I’m in a rush to just get things done. I have to time out my whole day. At 7:12 AM I brush my teeth with my left hand while I put my contacts in with my right hand. Note to self: don’t mix up right hand duties with left hand duties.
I think I would get antsy though if I had little to do. It’s like being at the beach. I end up having to do something instead of just laying there like a beached sheepshead and relaxing.
The key is to balance life. Family, friends, spiritual, play, work… It’s like the food groups of life. Fruits like bananas can be family, vegetables can be friends, grains and nuts can be spiritual, dairy can be play, and meat can be work. Too much of one can be bad. For instance, too much dairy will give you sour farts. Not good. Remember that.

OPENING
Myxx – where Jillians was in Cedar/Fairmont.
CLOSING
Thomasville Furniture – Aurora store closing May 31st – it was extended from May 15th – they are still only at 40% to 72% off just like the other month. A lot of furniture stores go out of business and don’t discount their furniture much when they do. Some say they will sell their stock to a wholesaler instead of getting rid of it at whatever price they can get. You have to wonder if it’s a gimmick to get people to shop for furniture. I just bought a dresser at Levin Furniture using a $125 Groupon. I got it for around $300 (real oak, cedar) at over 80% off. So I’m not impressed with Thomasville for not discounting their furniture more.
