When an item is in season the prices for that item are at their lowest typically. Berries, Cherries, and Corn are now low in price and so are hot dogs! There must have been a bumper crop for hot dogs because the deals are great!

I like a relish, ketchup, and stadium mustard on my hot dog. But what does a hot dog really contain. The lips of cows? Locusts? Or perhaps they scoop up all the leftover skin at an elementary school parking lot playground to make them.
Well, no. They are made of pork, beef, chicken, or turkey, meat fat, a cereal filler which could be either bread crumbs, flour, or oatmeal, a little bit of egg white, and herbs and seasonings like garlic, paprika, pepper, ground mustard, nutmeg, salt, and onion.
Hot dog or more likely sausage casings are made out of natural animal intestines, typically from sheep. Then to make sure they last they include preservatives, typically sodium erythorbate and sodium nitrite
Wieners tend to contain pork and are blander, while Franks tend to be all beef and more strongly seasoned.
The word frankfurter comes from Frankfurt, Germany, where pork sausages served in a bun similar to hot dogs originated. These sausages, Frankfurter Würstchen, were known since the 13th century and given to the people on the event of imperial coronations, starting with the coronation of Maximilian II, Holy Roman Emperor as King. Wiener refers to Vienna, Austria, whose German name is “Wien”, home to a sausage made of a mixture of pork and beef.
What I want to know is who the clown is that made a package of buns not equal to the number of hot dogs in a package.
The bun came about in the late 1800’s because customers kept taking white gloves from vendors that were handed to them for eating without burning their hands. Why we got away from wearing white gloves is beyond me.
A claim of inventing the hot dog name came when vendors sold German sausages and rolls to spectators at the old New York Polo Grounds during the winter. They called them “Dachshund sandwiches”, but a New York Post cartoonist “couldn’t spell dachshund, so when he drew the cartoon, he called them hot dogs.
The term “dog” has been used as a synonym for sausage since 1884 and accusations that sausage makers used dog meat date to at least 1845. In the early 20th century, consumption of dog meat in Germany was common. The suspicion that sausages contained dog meat was “occasionally justified”. Is there anything to a burger seemingly very close in spelling to the word booger?
Unlike other sausages which may be sold uncooked, hot dogs are cooked before packaging. Hot dogs can be eaten without additional cooking, although they are usually warmed before serving. And here I’ve been wasting time cooking them.
7-Eleven sells the most grilled hot dogs in North America, 100 million yearly. Not surprisingly, there hasn’t been a case where a lottery winner at 7 Eleven has purchased a hot dog in celebration of winning.
The US-based National Sausage and Hot Dog Council in 2005 found mustard to be the most popular condiment, with 32% of respondents preferring it; 23% of Americans said they preferred ketchup, chili con carne came in third at 17%, followed by relish at 9% and onions at 7%. Toothpaste was a distant 17th.
PETS
We have cats and fish. Our two cats names are Dummy. Yes, just Dummy. No, the other one doesn’t have a different name. They are both named Dummy. They are brothers and haven’t complained to me or lodged a complaint that I found in the suggestion box at home.
They usually purr as soon as we call their name. They are both the size of dogs. One is hefty while the other is more trim. One likes to snuggle in the armpit of my wife’s pajamas. It leaves a nasty stain that I attribute to some unpleasant cleaning habits. I don’t know if I should be jealous, but he doesn’t snuggle in my armpit. That being said, if your spouse snuggles in your armpit…that is love.
There have been a handful of times where they snuck out of the house. They stay indoors. One time we got home and I thought I saw a bobcat. It was the Dummies. They waited at the end of the driveway for us to get home when they’ve snuck out. They could’ve texted us to let us know they needed back in, but their paws can’t seem to hit the send button all that well.
